LECTURE: "Cultural Significance of the Hawaiian Monk Seal"


This Thursday, January 6, 2011, Dr. Trisha Kehaulani Watson will be giving a lecture on the cultural significance of the Hawaiian monk seal. The 45 minute presentation will include a review of the current research being done on the ecological and ethnographic history of monk seals in Hawai`i. A power point presentation will be given showing some of the current findings of the research. We will also be reviewing current and planned recovery activity and explaining the new community liaison program. There will be a short question and answer period following the presentation.
